Tabletops & Tentacles, Magazine Preview

By on 19:18

Pop culture fandom has so many areas of potential enjoyment. Some of us just can't get enough about gaming, books, movies, art, and all of those nerdy things associated with it. Many of us have such a broad range of interests we are looking for new places to feed our curiosity. I was introduced to one that looks like it will be serving up some delicacies.

Convention goers, especially in the western half of the United States, have had the opportunity of meeting Kris and Lindsay McClanahan. These two have drunk the pop of modern nerd culture. They own Deeply Dapper, a creative outlet for all sorts of crafty things including art, soap, beard oil, books, games, and other items quite popular with the conventioneers (here is a link to an artist review I did of Deeply Dapper in 2018). I know people who check to see if they are at the con so they can resupply their soap or beard oil.

Kris and Lindsay realized they weren't getting the enough nutrition from their current pop culture diet and have created a supplement.

The McClanahans are launching Tabletops & Tentacles, a magazine to round out the diet of pop. If you've seen their log for Deeply Dapper or know of their deep interest in Cthulhu (the named their trailer The Cthulhuhaul) it's clear where they got the name from. The magazine, like their other venture looks to cover a wide range of interest.

I was a given a preview copy of Tabletops & Tentacles, along with the chance to spend time at their booth at SaltCon to find out what they are planning on serving up to everyone. I'm looking forward to what they have coming.

Kris and Lindsay have attended conventions for years. They have a network of friends who are all in the community of craftspeople and representing many different talents. In Tabletops & Tentacles they're starting with their wonderfully creative skills and piling on helpings from this larger community of artists, writers, game developers, and more. The line-up is impressive.

Their first serving was funded by a Kickstarter campaign. The campaign raised 10 times more than their goal and I don't think any of the backers are going to be disappointed. It's a large volume with over 140 pages and the follow up installments are going to be packed with more to feast on. They will be providing regular articles about areas including games, movies, books, comics. And there will be other tasty morsels served on a regular basis. They have authors with short and serialized fiction. You will get interviews and other material you can use to impress your friends.

They are putting a lot of substance into Tabletops & Tentacles—so you won't lose your fizz between issues.

You can get more information on the social media sites. Here are a few and I'm sure they are on other platforms.

I'm working at keeping my material free of subscription charges by supplementing costs by being an Amazon Associate and having advertising appear. I earn a fee when people make purchases of qualified products from Amazon when they enter the site from a link on Guild Master Gaming and when people click on an ad. If you do either, thank you.
